Weaving Destination promotes the finest ethical eri-silk and vintage inspired organic cotton fabrics and products handwoven by indigenous women from the Bodoland Territorial Council, Assam, India. We preserve traditional Bodo motifs and weaving techniques while designing products to suit international markets.
Social & Economic Empowerment
Weaving Destination has provided a platform for creating social and economic empowerment for indigenous vulnerable women, survivors of human trafficking and HIV, through promoting their hand-woven fabrics.
Our Fair-Trade Principles
The women’s involvement and products are based on fair-trade principles, where women are engaged as partners in their own socio-economic development.
We Use Organic Raw Materials
The products are made of organic raw materials, including use of organic cotton, vegetable natural colour dyes and non-violent silk rearing practice, while preserving the local community practice of weaving.
